Langston G. Johnson has combined his two passions of film and sports to develop a career at NBC Sports Bay Area/California in San Francisco. Langston currently works as an on-air promotions writer/producer/editor.

A former NFL hopeful, Langston earned a bachelor’s degree in film studies at Yale University while playing football on the varsity team. He earned accolades as an “All Ivy League” tight end, and pursued training for the NFL after graduating in 2008. But injuries and circumstances led him back to his core passion of video and television production within the sport industry.

The unique mix of an athletic background and a studied, artistic approach provide Langston with an edge as a video editor and producer. In addition to editing, Langston enjoys discovering underground hip-hop music, closely following professional and collegiate sports, like soccer, baseball, and basketball, and watching motorsports. He is an artist, an athlete, and a sports lifer.

Langston was born and raised in Northern California and attended high school at Bellarmine College Preparatory, where he excelled in sports and football in addition to his studies. He currently lives with his wife in San Francisco.
